4. Complete the policy signing and initial premium payment procedures under the verification of the insurance company’s verification specialist

The verification specialist will verify on-site whether the policyholder has purchased insurance within Hong Kong, whether the documents are fully prepared, whether the insurance attributes are clearly understood, and whether the policyholder has signed the verification declaration document. Different insurance companies may have different requirements.

Payment of premium: It is recommended to make payment in the form of VISA/MASTER credit card, promissory note or check; It is recommended that customers who do not have a Hong Kong bank card apply for a local Hong Kong bank card after arriving in Hong Kong for subsequent premium payments.

After the payment is completed, the entire signing procedure is completed. After the insurance company further completes the underwriting, the original policy will be mailed by the insurance company to the communication address provided by the customer by express delivery. At that time, the customer should pay attention to receiving it and sign the policy receipt.

Matters needing attention

Based on the validity of the policy, the policy applicant, insured, and witnesses must personally sign all documents within Hong Kong in order for the policy to be protected by Hong Kong laws; On the contrary, if the policy is not signed within Hong Kong (such as in a city in mainland China), it violates the regulations of both mainland China and Hong Kong, and the policy will have no legal effect. If the application form of the policyholder is not signed in Hong Kong but filled in with the word “Hong Kong”, it is a fraudulent act. The purchased policy is not protected by Hong Kong law and may be invalidated, and may also bear criminal responsibility.

When insurance companies receive policy applications from non local residents, they will make copies of the entry records and archives on the applicant’s travel documents for regulatory agencies to verify and protect the rights and interests of both parties.

All declared materials, including past medical records, must be listed accurately and in detail, without any concealment.
Do not sign on blank or unfilled forms.
